The professional grade drone has revolutionized aerial surveying; no longer is a manned helicopter or a plane needed to map the topography of an area to generate DEM (Digital Elevation Model) or DTM (Digital Terrain Model) models. Traditional sensors using traditional aircraft or helicopter remain too heavy, too large and too expensive. The YellowScan team is committed to design and develop ultra-compact image sensors and tools based on LiDAR technology. Able to penetrate vegetation, with high accuracy, our airborne solutions adapt to various UAV platforms and can generate accurate point cloud data fast, even in the field (compatible with GIS / CAD systems).
Its light weight makes it also easy to mount on any drone, including VTOLs. As all YellowScan Lidar Systems, the Surveyor Ultra is fitted for under vegetation 3D modeling, and fast data processing.
Having a longer range and more accurate system were the prerequisites to the Vx.

With a robust and fully integrated system designed to meet the needs of most demanding survey and terrain professionals, YellowScan Surveyor is quick and easily adapted to any drone, generating data when and where you need it.
The team has carefully selected and deployed the best high-end components for unparalleled level of performance; e.g. the Applanix APX15 single board GNSS-Inertial solution chosen for its highly accurate position and orientation direct georeferencing.
The YellowScan Surveyor complements the YellowScan product family with a solution ideally suited for precise topography and demanding requirements for civil engineering and mining applications.
YellowScan LiveStation provides system operators with the immediate and relevant information needed to ensure a smooth acquisition even in difficult working conditions.
It renders a real-time, three-dimensional representation of the point cloud during flight, with ability to zoom, translate or rotate. Simultaneously, the user interface presents an immediate summary of the system’s status.
The transect view easily allows the operator to check in real-time whether the LiDAR is able to penetrate a forest’s canopy and sample the ground.
Missions can later be replayed for analyzing flight conditions and data.
